| A Typical Snoop Morning Now that I'm back to work, here's how my typical day begins... 7:05am - Alarm goes off. Snooze button. 7:14am - Alarm goes off again. Snooze button. Roll over. 7:22am - Alarm goes off again. Turn alarm off. Slither gently out of bed so as to not awake my precious sleeping Darabbit. 7:23am - Tiptoe to bathroom. 7:24am - Turn on portable heater in bathroom. My husband is a genius. 7:25am - Brush teeth with eyes closed. Run shower water to warm it up. 7:26am - Jump into shower and wash the polar bear fur. Scrub, scrub. 7:36am - Towel off. Robe on. Moisturizer application to fight fine lines. Deodorant. Apple lotion. 7:40am - Tiptoe back into room. And here's my favorite part of the morning.... 7:41am - Gently place sock over Darabbit's eyes. 7:42am - Turn on lights. 7:43am - Darabbit says with a smile "Thank you for the sock, Polar Bear." Makes me smile every time. I'm so thankful to have such a gracious, understanding husband. It's truly the simple things. | | |
| Pop Goes My Heart! Haha...only certain people will get that.... Ok, I'm a bit slow, but the sentiments are still fresh in my head....Our 1st Valentine's Day as Penguin and Polar Bear Hai was s-w-e-e-t! Tulips. My favorite! Per Darabbit... Red for love. Pink for Valentine's Day. White for Polar Bear. Mini Polar Bear. Mini Penguin. "Isn't she love-ly?" Furry Igloo. Who ever said penguins and polar bears can't cohabitate?! Pork Store. Sausage gravy....hmmmmm. De Anza. Seems like just yesterday. Backpack. Gummy Calcium Bears. Ooooo, strong bones just got more fun! Burnt Orange Purse. Elusive, but oh-so-appreciated. Music & Lyrics. Icees. Brrrrrr.... Mescolanza. Creme Brulee. Thankful. Yes! | | |
| Birds
I now officially join the likes of sfcitygirl and hopelesspeople in my newfound dislike of birds. Sure, I've suppressed the two times a seagull bombed the top of my head in middle school and the time a seagull took half of my roast beef sandwich and flew away. Forgive and forget. Anyhow, since Darabbit and I have moved to our new apartment, we've had to give up the luxuries of a driveway for him in front of the annex for his car and a garage for me at my old place for ahhhhh....the joy of street parking. Boo. One of the lovely perks of parking on the streets in the Richmond district is that undoubtedly your car will undergo unavoidable wear and tear from debris from the streets, weather damage, possibility of being dinged by the local Muni bus and whatever else might happen. Thankfully, we've avoided all of those possibilities thus far. But, one thing I didn't expect was the da birds. Not the sinister black crows that scamper on the cement aimlessly. Nor the head-bobbing rats with wings - the pigeon. But, alas, it was yet again, my arch nemesis - da seagull. I went to my car on Saturday morning to go pick up my parents and to my utter disgust, my poor little green Civic was no longer, ahem, green. It was literally covered in white, grayish, chunky galore. Ick. Not only are seagulls ugly, but apparently they are lactose intolerant or suffer from a chronic case of diarrhea. Can you envision a white watery mess of poo?! Ick, again. Though one would think Snoop would erupt in massive rage and use these wretched winged menaces as target practice, to her own surprise, she broke out in a fat smile instead. Seriously, I could not stop laughing as I tried to open the driver door without smudging the delightful poo on my hands. Though it was completely disgusting and a complete eye sore, I found it completely hilarious! I contemplated going back into the apartment and getting some hot water to melt the poo away, but since I was on a time crunch, I just drove my green monster in all its creamy glory to pick up my parents. My dad did not find it humorous at all. His face - My mom's face - . Haha Gotta love it. Before I could even explain what happened, my parents went for the hose and blasted the gooey remnants off my humble car. Not enough time for a serious scrubdown, since we were late, but rest assured when I got home later on that day, I gave my Civic some must deserved TLC.
Down with the seagull.
Other interesting news....
Snoop starts work again this Thursday! Penguin and Polar Bear will be romping with the kangaroos and koalas in May! Australia and New Zealand, watch out for this crazy arctic pair and their beloved family - Mom and Dad Hai and Penguin's sister and brother-in-law... can't wait!

| 24!
Did anyone record Monday night's episode of 24? If anyone has it, can you bring it to FUEL tomorrow night? Thanks. And yes, I'm a loser.

| Merry Christmas!
We would like to introduce you all to the newest addition to the HAI family... <drum roll please>
Meet Squatty...our 1st Christmas tree together as Mr. & Mrs. Hai! Yes, he's endearingly short and stout, visibly pear-shaped, got lotsa junk in its trunk, yet oh-so-cute in his special way. He's perfect in our book because we thought it'd be tough to even get a tree on Christmas Eve, but lo and behold, we found the nearest tree lot and they were giving trees out for f-r-e-e....yes, folks, we got our little Squatty for free! woo hoo!!

And as a lesson to all of us....don't judge a bush by it's branches. Though, so bare and seemingly void of any beauty, with a little bit of primping, Squatty transformed from what one would deem an ugly duckling to a lovely, sparkling swan. Isn't Squatty handsome? haha

Special thanks to Darabbit's dad for getting us the cute angel to top the tree off with and the special ornaments with our wedding date on them from his mom, his sister and my friend, Wendy. The rest are ornaments that Darabbit either made when he was a little penguin or gifts to him from special people. If you look closely, you'll see a Snoopy and Penguin ornament, compliments of our special friend, PONGuin.
MERRY CHRISTMAS to you all!!! May you all have a blessed day with family and remembering our special Savior!! | | |
